Other
Processes
The product identification
business is not as static as it might appear. Increasing requirements
and demand for products with more design appeal continue to
impact the nameplate industry. American Nameplate is an experienced
supplier of embossed nameplates, print and seal products,
and flexible new lightweight plastic substrates of all kinds,
including DOMING.
TRANSPARENT
or TRANSLUCENT finishes for nameplates are ideal for panel
backlighting, digital readouts, dead fronting and other applications.
Abrasion-resistant finishes may be applied to reduce surface
blemishes and cosmetic rejection. Second surface (SUB-SURFACE)
printing results in totally protected imagery.
EMBOSSING
of nameplates is the process used to raise a pattern of copy
above an original (normal) surface by the use of matched male
and female dies. STAMPING is the opposite and is used to depress
copy below the surface. Metals suitable for embossing and
stamping include aluminum, brass, stainless and CRS. In general,
metals, which have been annealed, are more easily embossed.
Material thickness can vary from .002" foils up to 1/8"
and more if necessary.
The
PRINT and SEAL process for nameplates screens ink into a sheet
of unsealed aluminum, which is then sealed with a chemical
process. This captures the ink below the surface of the aluminum
and insures a permanent image, which cannot be scratched or
removed.
We
routinely print BAR CODE and SERIALIZED nameplates, imprinting
images photographically onto a variety of metals, foils or
plastics. Serialized numbers are generally stamped into the
metal nameplates, but can also be screen-printed on metal
or foil nameplates.
ENGRAVING
on nameplates is an economical process to produce small quantity
runs on metal or plastic material. ROLL LABELS is also a very
economical process to produce small size, large quantity runs
on Vinyl, Mylar or foil material.
